Systems Engineering Manager Our client is seeking an energetic leader who loves to lead technical teams focused on operational excellence and has a passion for ensuring the reliability and availability of IT services. As the Systems Engineering Manager, you'll report directly to the Infrastructure and Operations (I O) Director, manage the infrastructure supporting our systems and applications, ensure regulatory compliance, provide guidance and communications during critical events, and spearhead the continuous improvement of operational processes. This position requires a balance of leadership, customer focus, urgency and technical acumen. Primary Responsibilities and Activities

  • Manage the day-to-day support of Systems and Database infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of client's applications, services and data

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and key technology and business stakeholders by acting as a trusted partner

  • Develop, document and maintain standards, procedures, and processes to support the reliability and regulatory compliance of client's systems

  • Ensure operational readiness of all projects and releases by working with leadership to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations

  • Support IT Service Management processes by managing the Systems Engineering and Database Administration teams and their vendors to minimize client and colleague impacts caused by Incidents, Problems and Changes

  • Manage vendor relationships and costs to ensure value realization from technology investments, and infrastructure technology roadmaps are aligned to vendor and product roadmaps

  • Responsible for management and governance of infrastructure management tools across all environments including monitoring, configuration, patching, performance and log aggregation

  • Oversee the configuration management database to ensure accurate and efficient management of technology assets and interdependencies

  • Provide metrics, reporting, and recommendations to leadership for operational improvements driving increased reliability and efficiency

  • Develop and implement training and mentoring programs necessary to develop employee skills and timely completion of goals and objectives

  • Keep current on industry best practices and technology trends Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

  • Ten or more years of comprehensive technology infrastructure experience with: hardware, virtualization, storage, patching, messaging and collaboration, infrastructure management tools, and database management systems

  • Five or more years of demonstrated experience building and managing technical teams

  • Foundational knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts and best practices

  • Demonstrated experience transitioning in house data center infrastructure to cloud based infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field

  • Experience in banking or financial services sector highly desired

  • SOX and PCI experience highly desired

  • ITIL Foundations (or above) certification'
