Robert Half International Staff Accountant in Scottsdale, Arizona
There's currently a short term temporary-to-fulltime position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Accountemps. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls under SOX accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Vow to meet business deadlines
Proficient in ERP systems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Knowledge of account reconciliation
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
Microsoft Excel experience
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast paced environment
