Accountemps has partnered with a growing company in the Service industry who has an opening for a Payroll Clerk who will be responsible for supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This role is based in the Omaha, Nebraska area. This is a challenging position with an industry leader, where a self-starter can find strong career growth opportunity. The company is a dynamic, fast-growing team, looking for someone who can communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's responsibilities will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is offered on a short term temporary basis.

What you get to do every single day

  • Organize data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Devise a system of administering and distributing reports

  • Construct and run custom reports

  • Communicate with organization employees via a variety of channels to obtain approvals of timesheets

  • Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices

  • Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

  • Proven knowledge of in-house payroll

  • Deep understanding of multi-state payroll

  • Payroll for under 100 employees experience preferred

  • Payroll for over 500 employees experience

  • Payroll experience

  • Expertise in benefits payroll

  • 2+ years of previous payroll experience

  • Ability to easily learn new systems

  • Payroll software experience suggested

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
