OfficeTeam is looking for a Human Resources Assistant to assist with administration with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including owning a number of different personnel related administrative tasks and providing clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources related activities, policies, processes, and procedures. This opening is with an organization in the Elgin, Illinois area and is a short term temporary position.

How you will make an impact

  • Assist with planning new employee orientation meetings

  • Oversee office and administrative tasks

  • Maintain employee database documents

  • Research the internet to uncover potential customers

Requirements

  • Experience handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Familiar with office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

  • Approachable and appropriate interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment

  • Earlier work involving employee relations

  • Solid understanding of calendar managements and scheduling appointments

  • Alphanumeric data entry experience highly preferred

  • Benefits administration experience

  • Knowledge of HRIS

  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

  • Practical knowledge of document control

  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Word

  • General familiarity with customer service

  • Good understanding of records maintenance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of meeting coordination and planning

  • Background working with personnel file maintenance

  • Experience with MS Outlook

  • Deep understanding of typing 45 - 60 words per minute

  • Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
