Contracts Manager/Contracts Administrator Our client, a leading non- profit research company is looking for a 7 plus years Contracts Manager to develop, prepare, negotiate and coordinate contracts with the sales and business people. This position will be working on standard contracts for research projects, special contracts, jointly funded agreements, partnerships, tailored collaboration projects, facilitated research arrangements, and other legal agreements, contract amendments and letter agreements, and federal cooperative funding agreements. The Contracts Manager will coordinate the organization's contracts processes (including the definition, documentation of and refinements to those processes); coordinate contracting with key stakeholders involved, including attorneys, researchers and staff. The Contracts Manager will enforce contract provisions up to and including a timely receipt of deliverables, issuance of amendments, extensions, breach notification letters and project termination letters. The Contracts Manager will also provide direction for the Contracts Admin Assistant. Mentor and train as necessary, including key essentials of federal compliance. The Contracts Manager/Administrator will maintain essential documentation related to contracts and the administration of contracts, including physical files and electronic database records. Monitor and ensure that essential administrative tasks associated with contracts have been met, such as tracking systems for jointly funded agreements, tracking of insurance documentation, copyright assignment, and electronic and hard copy file organization. This position will preserve and maintain the intellectual property rights of organization; review contracts to ensure copyright transfer to the organization for publishing purposes; document authorized exceptions; and work with various stakeholders to solve copyright issues. This position requires superior negotiation, communication, and organization skills, Legal/Paralegal skills, including technical writing. Ideally, working knowledge and understanding of Federal regulation and compliance guidelines as relevant to project contracting. Advanced degree or a technical certification that includes business contract law and contract negotiation is a plus. CFCM designation or certification in Federal Grants Management is preferred not required. The company offers a very competitive pay and excellent benefits.
