In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you'll also be charged with various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.
Your responsibilities in this role
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Financial statement preparation experience highly desired
Accounts receivable experience required
Deep understanding of general ledger
Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
