Robert Half Finance has an opening for a Controller for a client in the Construction/Contractor industry who is seeking an ambitious candidate to join their reputable company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

Requirements: - Ability to meet deadlines - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - Financial reporting experience - Expertise in financial analysis - Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
