Robert Half International Facilities Coordinator in Antioch, California


Antioch Sub Contractor is in need of a facilities coordinator. This is a great position for someone who enjoys a blend of working at a desk, but also being outside and getting their hands a little dirty. In this position you will be in charge of handling routine inspection of the yard and facilities. This includes walking around the construction yard monitoring various equipment and projects for compliance (ie: electrical wires on this machine are showing, pipe #28 shows a clog, debri build up in a specific sector of the construction yard, etc.). You will not be in charge of fixing these problems, but rather reporting them, filling out the change order paperwork, and initiating follow up with the correct party if the problem has not been resolved within the allotted time frame. Additional duties include filling up the daily igloo containers with water for the workers, monitoring the parking lot for trash and equipment, and some projects in the office. MUST HAVE thick skin to do this job. You will need to approach laborers, project managers, about issues that need to be fixed by them. Will also need to have excellent follow through, as it is your job to make sure that these items get fixed are in compliance. About 70% of this job is spent in the yard wearing a hard hat and work boots, and 30% is spent in the office filling out follow up paperwork, assisting with data entry projects, and filing projects. This position could turn permanent for the right person. The hours are Monday-Friday 7am-4pm, and could be a little earlier during summer hours when it is warmer.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

  • Highly skilled at database and file management

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required; a BA/BS degree in business, communications, or related field is highly preferred

  • 1 year of business/office experience required

  • Past experience with the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work with differing personalities, have a thick skin

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
