Purchasing Agent Robert Half has partnered with a family-owned manufacturing organization that has been in business for over 50 years in their search of a Purchasing Agent. Ideal candidates will have prior experience within the manufacturing industry as a purchasing agent. This is a full-time, permanent position with a client of Robert Half. This position is open due to growth within the organization. Desired Experience: - 5+ years of purchasing experience - Experience in the manufacturing industry - Effective communication skills - Comfortable in a family-owned business Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a company's goods and services beginning with intent to purchase through delivery. - Liaison between suppliers, manufacturing, relevant internal departments and customers. - Analyzes requirements, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, product availability and date is needed. - Solicits and evaluates RFQs for the requested goods or services. - Maintains relationships with relevant suppliers, helps resolve supplier issues. - Forecasts levels of demand for products and services to meet business needs - Implements purchases and quality Purchase orders that comply with company and government regulations. - Assures that all goods and services are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the companies. - Works closely with the supplier in the event that a supplier communicates a delay or restraint with the delivery of their product - Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records. - Reviews or provides inventory reports as needed focus on trend analysis for new supplier opportunities, cost savings and process improvements. - Interprets internal reports to assure proper items are ordered and predicts future purchases based on analyzing past purchases.
