Job Title: Junior Application Developer Job Classification: Full Time – Hourly/Exempt Job Summary: The Junior Application Developer is responsible for developing and supporting primarily ASP.Net applications, including troubleshooting, design, code, test, and deployment. The focus of the role is on software maintenance (break/fix) and the implementation of small to medium size enhancements. The junior developer also focuses on skill development to advance to more challenging assignments. Job Duties:

  • Analyze and resolve issues of small to medium complexity. Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Maintain existing code by troubleshooting and correcting software defects or report queries.

  • Design and implement small to medium size enhancements to existing applications to fulfill business requirements.

  • May be asked to assist in supporting business-developed Microsoft Access applications.

  • Participate in new development projects under the direction of a team lead.

  • Properly comment/document changes to source code and use source control software.

  • Ensure the quality of modified code through the use of unit and functional testing.

  • Follow software development coding standards and best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews.

  • Participate in deployments that may take place after business hours.

  • Stay current with industry software development methodologies, technologies and techniques and incorporate new software development technologies when appropriate.

  • Must read, be familiar, and be compliant with Meridian's Information Security Manual, as well as additional e-mails, policies, procedures and directives that comprise the overall Information Security policies as they are distributed.

  • Additional duties as assigned Education, Experience Knowledge: Ø Education: § Bachelor's degree in a related field required. In some cases, substantial, relevant experience may be substituted for this qualification § Technical coursework in Computer Science or related field desired. Ø Experience/Knowledge: § Experience with the following programming languages: ASP.NET/C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL § MVC, Bootstrap a plus § Understanding of relational databases and SQL § Understanding of IIS § Understanding of Agile development methodology § 1 or more years developing web applications using required languages If interested please email resumes to robert.omalley@rht.com
