Melissa Tree with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is currently recruiting for a Property Accountant to work for a local company that offers room for growth. As the Property Accountant you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and reports, preparing variance analyses, assisting with research projects and ensuring accuracy and compliance to accounting policies and procedures. The Property Accountant is responsible for the organization and preparation of audit work papers and budgeting/forecasting information for financial purposes and enforcing internal controls. Property Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates Accounts Payable process – review invoice coding, description entered and ensures proper audit trail exists
Oversees Accounts Receivable process – monitors cash receipts and ensures timely application, reviews tenant recurring charges and billing adjustments and performs tenant ledger reconciliations when necessary
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable for each respective property
Prepares and distributes monthly financial reports including journal entries, financial statements, bank reconciliations and supporting schedules of Balance Sheet Accounts
Communicate with Property Managers regarding tenant issues relating to accounting, such as receivables, returned checks, improper procedure, etc.
Performs cash management function including auditing petty cash
