Management Resources, part of the $1B senior consulting arm of Robert Half deploying over 4,000 consultants world-wide, currently has consulting opportunities for experienced Senior Cost Accountant in the Central Ohio area. The Senior Cost Accountant role job contributes to the clients success by assuming full responsibility for the day-to-day development, maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement of costing and inventory financial records, as well as basic financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for all measures include all inventory transactions, gross margin analysis, cost of goods sold variances, cost comparisons and other ad hoc projects. The Senior Cost Accountant directly interfaces with the manufacturing and engineering teams on product costing. Responsibilities: Maintain the integrity and accuracy of cost data for material, labor, overhead and outside processing costs under standard cost accounting methods. Create and maintain standard costs on all parts. Run inventory reports as needed in order to support the manufacturing teams analysis of manufacturing variances. Participate in projects and assignments as needed to support the goals of the department. Assist in the monthly close process to include (but not be limited to): Reconcile inventory accounts; Analyze Purchase Price Variance and Material Usage Variance; Prepare financial reports to be used by the finance and manufacturing teams; Review and explain manufacturing department spending variances to prior year and forecast; Prepare month-end inventory journal entries and others as necessary. Provide assistance with the maintenance of accounting systems and processes. Contribute ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, processes and procedures. Provide Customer Service with updates to transfer pricing in accordance with transfer price methodology. Manage annual physical inventory counts and audit the daily cycle counting processes. Responsible for the annual standard cost update process. Assist in preparation of quarterly forecast and annual strategic plan for manufacturing and engineering.
