Job Summary Our client in the Twin cities area, is looking for an HR leader to join their team. Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Director leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director will work in partnership with the restaurant operations management team, work within the field, and provide programs that support both the profitability as well as the development and retention of a high performing workforce. Serves as a member of the Executive Management team and advises leaders on Human Resource issues and strategies. Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement the strategic HR plan with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, employee engagement and retention activities and strategic compensation and benefits.
Serve as a strategic business partner and advisor to senior managers with a solid track record of achievement.
Ability to function as an internal coach to management and employees by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, and proposing solutions.
Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Assists recruiting in the selection process to fill vacant positions.
Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Perform workplace investigations and appropriately document complaints regarding employment practices.
Serve as a liaison with third party providers, including payroll processing companies and insurance brokers
Train and manage the professional development of HR staff. Knowledge, Skills Abilities
Previous HR experience in the hospitality or retail industries preferred.
Work requires an extensive knowledge of employment laws, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.
Have an in-depth knowledge/understanding of the business and how the Human Resources Department supports the business's operations.
